Why Citation Density Often Precedes Ranking
Citations create links, and links determine rankings. Widely cited researchers gain reputation and invitations; visibility follows citation.

In the AI layer, citation density itself becomes the primary visibility mechanism. A domain that is repeatedly co-mentioned with authorities accrues a kind of pre-ranking reputation within models’ training distributions.
